In October, Erica and Jodie threw me a wonderful baby shower. Since I'm just here for a little while, I don't have too many friends in the area. Keeping this in mind, they decided to do something that would only work for a small group:
A chocolate shower!
What could be better? They had it at
Ethel's, a chocolate shop in the city, and it was incredible. Maybe the best hot chocolate I've ever had,
followed by chocolate fondue,
chocolate dipped strawberries,
and a little box of chocolates to take home.
If that all sounds just too rich and
chocolaty to you, well...there is really no such thing - especially not for a pregnant lady! It was great and such a special evening. Erica even hired a friend to come and take pictures so we would have some nice photos of the night.
The only way it could have been better would have been if more of my family and friends could have joined us, but the ones who were here with me made it so special and memorable and those who couldn't were way too generous and sent tons gifts and warm wishes. I was overwhelmed by the kindness and thoughtfulness of everyone. This is one loved little baby!
Even our dogs managed to get into the act (with a significant amount of help from their ever thoughtful Grandma Suzanne).
Here's the diaper cake Jodie made for us. Pretty cute!
